Barrister Bookcase restauration
A neighbour owns this library from the 1920s and which belonged to his grandfather.
He wanted to see it cleaned and for some repairs to be made.
Glass change
The first thing to do was to put a glass window back on the door of one of the shelves.
Door pivot system
The doors slide and pivot upwards and two of them no longer opened properly, or even threatened to fall off each time they were opened. So I fixed this problem.
Some repairs
The library was in relatively good condition, but some repairs were still necessary.
A good sanding before re-tinting
Then came the time to clean everything by sanding the outside well.
I put a mahogany shade back on before returning the furniture to its owner.
