Restoration of a Venetian mirror
The Venetian-type mirror or the glazing mirror is a kind of large mirror around which small mirrors are added as decoration. To ensure their maintenance, a very decorative intermediate frame is installed. This mirror model is very typical of Venice, but now everyone can see it thanks to reworked models available on the market.
So I was contacted for a mirror that had been damaged during transport. One of the mirrors was detached from the rest of the body.
In fact, some of the glazing bead mirrors are fixed on pieces of wood and it is precisely one of them that has been broken.
So I removed the two broken pieces and remade a piece of the same shape.
I also took the opportunity to change the bottom of the mirror which was just a badly damaged cardboard plate.
